Emma Hunton Gets Into Some Good Trouble on Stage

Perhaps best known for playing Davia on Freeform’s Good Trouble, Emma Hunton is a fan favorite and inspiration for girls across the country. So it’s no surprise to learn the actress is a triple threat, an actor, singer and dancer! And writer and producer! This woman can do it all and brings her unique point of view to every project.

As part of the 1st National Tour of the Broadway smash Wicked, Hunton is no stranger to the stage. Whether it’s in front of hundreds of adoring audience members or 25 adoring fans, the passion Hunton has in the limelight is evident and beautiful.

Though she stars in film and TV, she will never be away from the stage for too long. Hunton has curated several shows over the years showcasing her love and talent. Whether it’s the Burlesque inspired “CLUE-lesque” at Tramp Stamp Mary’s in Hollywood, or it’s a rock opera parody at Three Clubs on Vine, Emma Hunton always wants to entertain you.

I’ve had the pleasure of attending a few of her shows, where she stars both as cast and headliner. First was XOXO Euphoria Girl which starred faves like Elle Duran, Garrett Clayton and many more. Then there was CLUElesque – a Burlesque version of the popular film/board game “Clue” and Exorcistic: The Unauthorized Rock Musical Parody of The Exorcist.

What an amazing time! First off, CLUElesque was in one of my favorite places in Hollywood, a piano/drag bar called Tramp Stamp Mary’s. The drinks are just as delicious and inventive as the staff. I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but the small venue was loud, colorful and full of music.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that Hunton loves to share the spotlight. She fills the stage with her friends who are talented and stunningm in their own right. And in certain shows there is a main cast and then a special star who rotates out every show.

CLUElesque ended up being an interactive affair with plenty of audience tie-ins to help solve the murder of “Whorechid”, the show’s femme fatale.

The next show was envisioned by Hunton and her producing partner Alli Miller. Stage and Cinema call Exorcistic “A headspinningly good Exorcist romp that doesn’t suck c#cks in hell!” Yes, one of the marquee songs features the last bit of that phrase and it’s very catchy! The framework of the musical is a show within a show. We see the play workshopped (Anatomy of a Scene is a particularly hilarious diversion) and then scenes acted out, but over the course of the show art becomes truth and the possessions because a little too real.

The show also stars Michael Shaw Fisher, Carly Jibson, Frankie Grande (@frankiejgrande!), Jesse Merlin, Gabby Sanalitro, Brian Logan Dales, Leigh Wulff, The show also features cameos in suprise roles. We see divas like Brendan Hunt , Garrett Clayton, and Briana Cuoco!

The show is bawdy, rioteous and out of this realm. Be sure to check out the vids below and if you’re in the Hollywood area, get a ticket. You’ll never know what surprises you’ll see!

New shows are coming August 4th and 11th and they’re working to bring the show to New York. Be sure to check it out!
