Iconic Stars Celebrate Our Veterans

Nicole Mendez (creator of Linked By Love), John Savage and Susan DeLaurentiis

It’s Oscars Weekend and the stars are out, but not just to see who takes the gold! The 15th Annual Susan DeLaurentiis Productions Gala celebrated the veterans who keep this country safe and paid homage to those we’ve lost. With a luncheon, fashion show and key presentations, several showed up to pay their respects.

We talked to John Savage, Donny Most, Morgan Fairchild about what makes the event so important. We also had a chance to chat with vendors who create products with our veterans in need. And finally, we chatted with the cast of Linked By Love, a series featuring a Black family where the matriarch needs a kidney transplant. Transplants are vital to the veteran community and having positive representation really does help more people decide to donate.

There were also actors from Scars which tells the story of a veteran dealing with PTSD, another topic that is severely underrepresented on screen.

It was a lovely day full of glitz and glamor and thanks. DeLaurentiis is a well known producer and has been a huge advocate of using her name and connections for good. In addition to the pre-Oscars luncheon, she also hosts the Global Impact Award gala, and the Face Forward Gala among more. She’s truly an inspiration and when it comes to her famous friends, the “awe-struck” goes both ways.

Check below for videos from many celebs as well as some exclusive looks at the luncheon and the vendors.

First, Ava Kaufman of Ava’s Heart, Marcus Roberts and Tenaya Wallace all talk about the importance of organ and limb donation:

Then we spoke to the cast of Linked By Love! New episodes air weekly. We spoke to Kiana Nicole Washington, Gordon James, Jr, Michelle N Carter and Shirley Jones.

Then we talked to a couple of the cast from Leydenville and Scars!

Next we spoke with acting greats, John Savage, Don Most and Morgan Fairchild.

Of course we had to hear from iconic faves like Frank Stallone and Tony Stavola. Tony can be seen in a new short film called Leydenville alongside Charlene Tilton.

And finally we spoke to Victoria Jackson, the founder and owner of GLAM Body Scrubs.

And if you were interested in the goodie bag, here’s a closer look!

It was a great night full of laughs, tears and cheers. Cant wait for next year!
